You've changed out distributors?

If I'm not mistaken you're showing a vacuum-only dizzy in your pictures.
compare and contrast- this was from December. Also didn't have the rear bumper yet.

Hiya back and thanks, Bookwus. I did a search for the German 1302 and all the ones in the photos had the back up lights. I can live with these tail lights until a good donor set becomes available.

I've calculated 26.5 MPG on the last tank and I'm hoping for 30+ with warmer weather. With the 009 distributor, I was lucky to get 23-24. My goal is to have it running smoothly in the event that Professor Colin wants to drive my homework to make sure I've made all the proper adjustments.
You shouldn't have any trouble. I pull 35+ in my '73 (so long as it's flat and I'm on a decent length trip with minimal stops).

Today's trip to Newburgh and back yielded 29.67 MPG, though I now seem to have a significant oil leak which appears to be coming from the oil pump. I will check as soon as the engine cools enough. Oily smell in the car since the heat exchanger on the right side wasn't fully closed!!!

I was able to locate a vintage roof rack at Funfest this past weekend and it's quite essential to haul a 9.5" Perception. This is also a good way to get crazy looks from passer by folks.

9 and a half inches? Are you driving around in a clown car?

Some times, units make all the difference!

Back to this older topic- I found the correct lights and made the swap to '71-'72 style lights.

Later I stopped to stay at this place- they had reasonable rates.

I may have a donor for my fuel injection conversion here.

Incidentally, this '72 Super beetle is going to become available for purchase if anyone is interested. I have too many vehicles and this one deserves a good home where it will get the proper care rather than mostly sitting unused.

Hiya VWB,

I wouldn't think that you'd have any problems selling that Bug. And for a heckuva lot more than you bought it. You have really made that car shine!

Thank you, sir. It's a car that the purchaser can drive wihout fear and without needing to make repairs. I hope someone repairs the paint chips- the car is worth stripping down for a new paint job. When was the last time you had the original battery tray unrusted with the mounting hardware? I've had several missing the tray due to rust.

I offered it back to the previous owner and she said I could sell it. It's a tough bond to break. These little cars get under one's skin...

I would ask $4500 for this car. It's a daily, reliable driver now with new rear brake shoes, wheel cylinders- yes Colin, about three clicks of the parking brake are all you need.

I have nearly all invoices showing all parts purchased/ work done.

the Magic Bus may be next, also have a '94 Mitsubishi 3000GT up for grabs as well. Too many cars and no time to drive them all.
