House of Ghia pilgrimage

Post by ruckman101 » Tue Apr 15, 2008 9:28 pm

Just got back from a run down to Salem to meet Mike at House of Ghia. He knows his stuff. So my water issues are mainly the front window seal. I picked up front and rear blocked window seals, a beautiful side mirror, used door striker plates, oh and a seal for the engine lid as I had none.

He was scrambling to get his '59 lowlight ready to take to a show in San Francisco, but still took time to give our '70 a look over, tons of advice re: condition of hinges, options, etc., pointing out the silver side trim is all wrong, probably an inexpensive after market kit. He noted poor alignment of the doors in relation to the body, suggesting I check the shims between the transaxle and body as the car may be sagging a bit. Gnarly.

A friend was buffing up the paint on his lowlight, gleaming bamboo yellow with a dark green roof sporting a complete new interior. Drool.

And a good day was had, wallet lightening though it was.

Look at this positively. Now you don't have to worry about a saggy butt.
I have cancer.

It does not have me.
