Is it worth it?

Post by gmag69 » Sat Mar 29, 2008 3:43 am

I was talking to a guy at work that is looking for a T1 motor for his dune buggy he uses in the woods. I happened to come across one in the junkyard yesterday and the owner of the junkyard told me he wanted $350 for it. It is in a super beetle everything is there all stock. My question is do you guys think it is worth that much? The car did have a battery in it when I first saw it in the yard. If it wasn't so close to the office I would have tried to start it. but I didn't wanna get kick out of the yard. I go there all the time to get stuff so.

What do you guys think?

Hiya gmag,

A big ditto on vdub's advice.

Otherwise you're buying a pig in a poke. And $350 is a pretty expensive pig.
I have cancer.

It does not have me.

Thanks for the replies. I'll see what the guy says. It's his $$ . To bad the car is so banged up I probably would have bought it and fixed it up. Go smacked in the front driver's side and driver's rear fender took a hit too. Poor Bug.

I would see if you can do a compression test. Good luck!
