Seat belts

Post by hambone » Thu Apr 12, 2007 2:44 pm

Is this the only replacement option for reel seatbelts in a Beetle? Pricey, $300+ to do the fronts. Those stock 3-point non-retractables just seem a bit dangerous...

Installed the belts. Bolt right in my ass...I called the vendor telling them "HAY MAN THE BRACKKKET DON'T FIT MAHHN"
"OH!" he says happily, "if you want to bolt them in you have beat the L bracket flat!"
Great, that's not what was advertised...I grumbled and hung up.
So I took a sledge and hammered em' flat on a stump and they bolted in without much trouble. I had to use some of the old bolts because the generic bolt kit didn't have what I needed.
The belts are made in OK City, Oklahoma. They seem sturdy but lack the German craft. I'm not sure I'd recommend these but they do work OK and I'm sure they're safe.
False advertising pisses me off. Not sure if I'd order from JBUGS again because of that.

Those Barstards!!

I love 'bolt on' products as well......HAWKTOOEY!!!!

Yep, the house is coming along but we had to take care of some urgent maintenance and upkeep sort of things and I wanted them done before the nice weather hits.
