Bugs in Mexico

Post by Xelmon » Thu Aug 23, 2012 7:31 pm

As in, the VW Bugs.

One of the things that I noticed since I've been here is that there are a horrendous number of bugs.
They are of course in various conditions too, good, bad, horrid, beautiful...

Talking to an older fellow that spoke pretty good English, it turns out that they are eternally cheap even today. It also caught my ear that he said that you can still get Mexican "engines" and "transmissions" pretty easily. I even asked if that's actual Mexican stuff, or Brazilian pops, and he said that it's all Mexican.

I wonder if we can just grab 1600's and bring em up. :)

As far as I researched you can bring the engines up. I think there is the customs to deal with, not sure what all that entails. Heck I want to go get one too.

What are you looking at for prices? Why are you in Mexico?
Up, up the long, delirious, burning blue, I’ve topped the wind-swept heights with easy grace. Where never lark, or even eagle flew. And, while with silent, lifting mind I've trod, The high untrespassed sanctity of space, Put out my hand, and touched the face of God.

why not just stop in albuquerque, nm and pick up a 1600 longblock from general parts, lol. they usually have 3-4 sitting on the floor ready to go.

In the afternoons I would drink cervesas in the plaza and entertain myself counting the beetles that went by.
