One that hasn't been hijacked by corporations. It's a recurring theme, isn't it?

Re: BT - Monsanto
It is a recurring theme. Why do so many John Q. Publics adopt a hostile attitude towards these important regulatory functions? I like regulation of the transportation sector, financial sector, energy sector, agricultural sector, etc. I cannot believe that the thin arguments of those who are regulated are then repeated by so many of the people who are beneficiaries of those regulations. We have examples of insufficient regulations, I do not see many credible examples of too much regulation.Velokid1 wrote:And we NEED an FDA.

Re: BT - Monsanto
It's a mantra still droning that started with Reagan, or probably even before. A back door approach to empowering corporations, and disempowering the populace.Amskeptic wrote:It is a recurring theme. "Too much government, can't afford it, bringing our country down in debt!"
It seems anything "public" is under attack. Parks, welfare, education, roads, infrastructure, health, especially women's health, all the bittiest bits of this nation's budget have been decried as the problem. Soooo easy. Without funding, there is no regulation of the transportation sector, financial sector, energy sector, agricultural sector etc. etc. etc.
