The point of this thread isn't global warming; the point is that not EVERY goddamned thread needs to be about global warming. It has ruined this place. But you don't give a shit about that, do ya?

Quit whining and trying to control me ya' busybody. If it bothers you that much why do it in the first place? :geek:

Let's expand the metaphor here to cover the whole country.
Discussions have not ruined this place or this country.

There are people who do not discuss well (see: Fox News commentators).
So change the channel.
You can get your information from people like Bill Moyers. He has never wasted his breath debating Sean Hannity. By choice.

I like active give-and-take of ideas that comprise a good nourishing conversation. There are many good wonderful minds here. You merely need find them, and engage them.

But it's so noisy.

Analogy time: I don't believe in God with a capital G. I could be really disruptive and get a lot of attention here @ IAC if I were to go off on an anti-religion diatribe every single time someone said "Oh Gosh" or "My Lord" or "Heavens to Mergatroid" or "Merry Christmas."

I bet I'd end up on people's Ignore lists.

You're right. You could be disruptive. But you choose not to be. There are many here who like you a lot because you are passionate and grounded.

I could be . . . rude. Thank God I'm not.

Drooling in a corner, mumbling to myself.
"I hold the most archaic values on earth ... the fertility of the soul, the magic of the animals, the power-vision in solitude.... the love and ecstasy of the dance, the common work of the tribe."

My right big toe nail is far more important. I just cut it with a metal saw blade to make it back to quite normal.

Dig the Trudell quote. Sums it up succinctly.
