Champion of the free market and deregulation (to a ridiculous extent). Founder of the Chicago School of Economics. Also champion of school vouchers, the all-volunteer army, and the legalization of pot.

Love him or hate him--he was one of THE most influential--economists of the late 20th century.

He was loved and hated. Hated primarily by fellow economists... economists tend to not like a person who thinks outside of the box.
